Description:
This activity will provide learners with a better understanding of the human factors that were involved in the management of COVID-19 and critical illness throughout the pandemic. Although all health care professionals were affected by the pandemic, the MICU staff was called upon to manage the highest level of acuity and did so with limited resources over a prolonged period of time. This presentation will allow some of those stories of clinicians’’ “lived experiences” to be shared.
Learning Outcome:
At the conclusion of this learning activity, (at least 75% of) participants will be able to describe an overview of the challenges that health care professionals, who practice in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) faced during the recent pandemic.
