On Monday March 16th 2026 from 12:15-1pm, we welcome Bess Trevino APRN, to APP Topics in Medicine and Surgery for her talk: “Diabetes Medication: Pharmacologic Management”.
Bess Trevino APRN, is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in General Internal Medicine and Adult Primary Care. Bess began her professional career in education, earning a Bachelor of Science in Education and working with PreK through fifth-grade students. This early experience fostered a strong passion for teaching and education - skills that continue to influence her approach to patient education today.
She later transitioned into healthcare, earning an Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Yavapai College in Arizona, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Western Governors University in 2020. She most recently completed her Family Nurse Practitioner degree at Norwich University in 2024.She began her clinical nursing career in the intensive care unit (ICU), where she gained experience caring for patients with complex medical needs. Over time, she worked in a variety of clinical settings before transitioning to the outpatient environment in late 2022, when she accepted a role as an RN Diabetes Educator in General Internal Medicine. This role allowed her to focus on a patient population she has been passionate about serving since entering the nursing profession.
In 2024, she became a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) and plans to sit for the Advanced Diabetes Management certification boards this fall.
Outside of work, she enjoys traveling and has had the opportunity to live in the Philippines, Korea, Germany, and various regions across the United States.
