On Monday March 2nd 2026 from 12:15-1pm, we welcomed Danielle Basta MSN, APRN and Jessica Justice Vogt MHS, PA-C, to APP Topics in Medicine and Surgery for their talk: “Diabetic Ketoacidosis & Hyperosmolar Hyperglycemic State – two patient cases”.
Danielle Basta has been a family Nurse Practitioner since 1995. She has spent over half her professional life in primary care in both rural southern VT and more recently at DHMC championing diabetes care as an inpatient endocrinology NP and acting as the Clinical Director of the patient centric, Diabetes Management and Education Center of Excellence at DHMC. She received her MSN from Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions and her MPH from Dartmouth College. Danielle has been an active member of DH’s Member Advanced Practice Advisory Council since 2009.
Jessica Justice Vogt is a Physician Assistant with 18 years of clinical experience and is the Lead APP for General Surgery at DHMC. She completed her B.A. at Mount Holyoke College in Neuroscience & Behavior and received her Physician Assistant degree from Drexel University. She has worked clinically in inpatient and outpatient roles, but has focused primarily on Trauma & Critical Care. Jess joined DHMC in August of 2022 and works clinically with the Trauma & Acute Care Surgery team. For the 7 years prior, she worked at the University of Pennsylvania in their Trauma Surgical ICU. She spearheaded an interdepartmental Traumatic Brain Injury Committee at DHMC to improve acute and post-acute care for patients with TBI. Jess holds her Yellowbelt Quality Improvement Certificate and has completed Certificate Programs in HealthCare Innovation at the University of Pennsylvania and APP Leadership Development at Stanford University. She recently completed her Master’s in Health Administration degree at Dartmouth College. She co-facilitates the lecture series APP Topics in Medicine & Surgery at DHMC and is a member of the Dartmouth Health Quality Improvement Committee and trained as a Peer Supporter.
