On September 25, 2024, we welcomed Abigail Konopasky PhD, Director of Medical Education
Research and Scholarship in the Department of Medical Education at the Geisel
School of Medicine at Dartmouth to facilitate a session entitled “Publishing
Your Scholarly Work.”
She opened by introducing the concept of “microassets”:
things you are already doing in your daily practice that you can build on
to develop a scholarly publication. Drawing examples from the Journal of Nurse
Practitioners and the Journal of the American Academy of Physician
Assistants, Dr. Konopasky offered a guide to finding a publication type that works for you and
offered some best practices for addressing common publishing barriers in
order to bring your publication to the finish line.
