APP Colleagues, On Monday, May 5, 2025, we welcomed Melanie Garcia, APRN for a presentation on ICU Management of COPD Exacerbation.

Melanie grew up in upstate New York, where
she pursued her academic interests in Sociology and Gender Studies at Cornell
University. After graduation, she moved to Vermont on a whim and instantly fell
in love with the state, knowing there was nowhere else she'd rather be.
Several years later, her passion for helping
others led her back to school to study nursing, paving the way for an
eight-year career at UVM Medical Center.
As an RN in the Medical ICU, Melanie deepened
her expertise while completing her Nurse Practitioner degree in acute care at
Norwich University. Now, she is proud to be one of Dartmouth’s critical care
APP residents, where she is deeply grateful for the opportunity to learn from a
team of skilled and compassionate clinicians.
Outside of the hospital, Melanie enjoys
staying active through running and swimming, or indulging her love of pastries.
