Interprofessional Grand Rounds - Advocacy and Documentation for Survivors of Gender-Based Violence
From Judith Langhans
Kate Rohdenburg, MS - Program Director, WISE
Gender-Based Violence (GBV) occurs in our communities on a daily basis and can affect anyone. Offering a means of support through trained advocates provides an ongoing connection for survivors and improves the long-term health and safety of our patients. In this session, healthcare professionals will learn about steps to take and resources that are available when providing clinical intervention for this vulnerable population who present in a variety of health care settings for individual care and treatment.
At the conclusion of the activity, (at least 75% of) participants will be able to describe the role and response of community-based advocates in their work with and support of survivors of gender-based violence.
